Porto urban vernacular lettering and shop signage in particular has been an interest of mine for many years. It’s been an interest that I have also encouraged my students to indulge in through projects that encouraged them to travel the city documenting letters in the environment. From the photos I took over the years I constructed the following series of prints. Sadly, quite a few of the original signs no longer exist.
